Smooth-billed Ani

The Smooth-billed Ani is a social member of the cuckoo family found throughout tropical and subtropical America. It is commonly seen in small groups in open woodland, forest edges and scrub, where it feeds on insects, fruits and small vertebrates. The species is well known for its cooperative breeding behaviour, with several birds often sharing a single nest.
